Joe’s 5×8 Quaker Chicken Coop in CT

5×8 Quaker Chicken Coop in CT

Joe and his family were originally from New York City, but they wanted to leave the hustle and bustle of the city to reconnect with nature. With the additional room, they were able to start raising chickens.  What started as a novice activity became a passion and hobby for the Lopez family. Keep reading to learn more about their 5×8 Quaker Chicken Coop in CT.

Joe and his wife knew they wanted an Amish-built coop, so he googled and came across The Hen House Collection. He was able to see one in person because he was located about 15 minutes away from one of our dealers. He saw the coop’s quality and craftsmanship and knew it was the one he wanted to buy.

Q & A with Joe

Tell me about your interactions with The Hen House Collection or our dealers (Website, phone call, visit to the office, etc.)

“The people behind the product have been great every step of the way. Every person I’ve talked to, from the delivery person to the salesperson, has been great. They’re a great company and they put out a great product.”

What style of coop did you get?

“There was a couple I was going back and forth on, but I liked the Quaker best because it looks like a house. My wife wants a farm, so we got a red and white coop. I didn’t want to do the stark white corners, so I did the cream corners, which I love. We get so many compliments on it and what it looks like.”

What features and options did you get on your coop?

“ A couple of the options that I felt were a necessity was the epoxy floor, which makes the coop so easy to clean, and the metal roof, which comes insulated, and with all the snow we get up here, everything melts off it really quick, and I like the way it looks aesthetically too.”

I would highly recommend this coop. Actually, one of my good friends, who is about 15 minutes from here, I sold him on The Hen House Collection’s coops. He bought one and loves it. Anyone I know that’s looking for a coop, I recommend The Hen House Collection.”

What do you love most about your chicken coop?

“What I love most about the coop is that I don’t have to worry about the safety of my chickens, to me that’s paramount. The looks are great, the options are great, but just not having to worry about their safety is what I love most about it. It’s so secure, I don’t have to worry about anything getting in.”
