Number of Chickens
The number of chickens you may have varies by municipality. For example, the city of San Diego allows up to 5 hens per residential lot but does not permit roosters.
Distance Requirements
Some areas in California have setback requirements for coops and runs. Coops must be at least 20 feet from neighboring residences in San Francisco.
